Tool
Debt-Payoff Planner
The borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7, KJV).
What this tool computes
This tool performs amortization arithmetic on entered balances, rates, and payments; Scripture is presented beside the figures without comment on borrowing (Proverbs 22:7, KJV).
Each debt's timeline is computed month by month, interest accruing on the open balance before the payment applies, until the balance reaches zero; the verse beside the table states that the borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7, KJV).
Two payoff orderings appear side by side as computed totals only, labeled by their sort key alone; neither is preferred here, for the page presents arithmetic and the verse (Proverbs 22:7, KJV).
The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
— Proverbs 22:7 (KJV)
The planner
Add each debt with its current balance, APR, and the monthly payment applied to it. Results render below in black text on white cards. A payment that does not exceed the first month's interest is reported as "payment does not reduce balance."
Debts
Each debt on its own payment — month-by-month amortization
Standard amortization: each month, interest = balance × (APR ÷ 12); the payment is applied after interest accrues. Figures are computed month by month until the balance reaches zero.
| Debt | Balance | APR | Payment | Months | Interest paid | Total paid |
|---|
Ordered by balance
All payments combined; when a debt reaches zero its payment moves to the debt with the smallest starting balance still open. Arithmetic only.
Ordered by rate
All payments combined; when a debt reaches zero its payment moves to the debt with the highest APR still open. Arithmetic only.
